According to the home page of their website, Michigan Citizens for Stem Cell Research and Cures is "501(c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization" and as such "MCSCRC does not and cannot express support for any piece of legislation or political petition related to stem cell research."
Yet it seems that many of the people they come in contact with believe they are leading the charge (they are) to overturn Michigan's laws which ban human cloning and prevent the killing of human embryos for research. MCSCRC has even posted an article from the Great Lakes IT Report which says, "There's a Web site behind the effort to repeal the ban, at www.stemcellresearchformichigan.com."
