A couple in South Texas have been arrested after police found a 7-month aborted child in a gift box placed under their Christmas tree. Authorities believe the couple induced an abortion using abortion pills, attempted to flush the child down the toilet, failed, and then placed the child in a gift box to hide the child because they called an ambulance because the mother was bleeding.
Ruby Lee Medina, 31, and Javier Gonzalez, 37, of Mission, have been charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Bond was set Monday at $20,000 each.

A woman who answered the telephone at the San Juan city jail Monday night said she could not say whether Medina or Gonzalez had retained an attorney.

San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez said police found the fetus inside the woman's trailer home Thursday after getting an anonymous tip.

After a Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin was caught lying on tape to an undercover patient, one state lawmaker wants an investigation and is asking the district attorney to investigate. Also, note Planned Parenthood’s response to television station’s request for an interview.
Planned Parenthood refused our request for an on camera interview and would only release this statement, calling the claims "false and inflammatory."

"...Planned Parenthood's standard is to provide honest, medically accurate information. That is what the physician in this case did."

According to a USA Today blog, the National Institutes of Health has approved an additional 27 human embryonic stem cell lines for federal funding. The lines are only eligible for funding into diabetes research because that's what the parents of the embryos believed they would be used for.
