Adult stem cell research for spinal cord injuries may be coming to Michigan

Yesterday the Detroit Free Press ran this story about how the Portuguese procedure of extracting olfactory stem cells from patients and using them to heal/help spinal cord injuries could be coming to Michigan in the future.

They also featured this story on a young woman who has gone to Portugal and is currently in the process of improving after the treatment and rehabilitation.

Blogicus has other stories here and here regarding ethical stem cell success.

  1. I am so happy to see someone else reporting on stem cell research. As a retired nurse, the medical side is of interest to me and as a Christian I applaud the good news coming from use of stem cells from cord blood, placentas and nasal mucosa. I will bookmark you site and come back to see if you have more news than I have found.
