In South Africa, where abortion is legal, a reporter with the Daily Dispatch was able to purchase abortion pills on the street.

In the past three weeks, 41 women and teenage girls have been admitted to two hospitals with botched backstreet abortions – some in critical condition and fighting for their lives.....

The men then bragged about how they performed abortions even with pregnancies in advanced stages of up to seven months.

“Someone comes with seven good months. That’s a real kid ... People come, they give me R3000 … R2000. Don’t worry, everything is going to be fine,” said one.
